The following shortcut methods are valid for use with Internet Explorer 9.

Here's how to create a desktop shortcut for easy access to Banner INB's live Production database using your Internet Explorer browser:

  • Right-click on your desktop.
  • Click "New", then select "Shortcut."
  • In the window that appears copy and paste the line below, exactly as it appears from the first quote, up to and including the letters prod
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://go.middlebury.edu/inb?prod
  • Click Next, then type a name for the shortcut (you can call it Banner INB - Production), then click Finish.
  • When you want to access Banner INB in the future, double-click this shortcut.

Similarly, you can create a shortcut to Banner INB's Pre-Production testing database. Follow the steps above but use the following text for the shortcut:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://go.middlebury.edu/inb?preprod

Alternative Shortcut Method

If the above shortcut methods don't work, try creating the desired shortcuts without "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe".

  • Right-click on your desktop.
  • Click "New", then select "Shortcut."
  • In the window that appears, copy and paste the appropriate line below, exactly as it appears from the first quote, up to and including the letters prod
    http://go.middlebury.edu/inb?prod
    http://go.middlebury.edu/inb?preprod
  • Click Next, then type a name for the shortcut (such as Banner INB - Production), then click Finish.
  • Double-click your shortcut when you want to access Banner INB in the future.
