Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9.x), released on 22 October 2013, is the newest version of Mac OS X.  Apple has posted a complete list of [http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/ what's new] in Mavericks.<br>
  
There are a few issues related to the upgrade to Mavericks that involve compatibility of software applications and services with the new OS. We are reviewing the situation as it develops but currently we are not distributing OS X Mavericks (10.9.x) and are recommending that Faculty and Staff refrain from upgrading their College computers.

OS X Mavericks (10.9.x) is available as an upgrade for Faculty and Staff who are currently running Mountain Lion (10.8.x).  If your machine is running Mountain Lion (10.8.x) the upgrade will appear automatically in Software Updates under the Apple Menu.  If your machine is running Snow Leopard (10.6.x) or Lion (10.7.x), you will need to contact the Technology HelpDesk to discuss upgrade options.

Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9.x), released on 22 October 2013, is the newest version of Mac OS X. Apple has posted a complete list of what's new in Mavericks.

OS X Mavericks (10.9.x) is available as an upgrade for Faculty and Staff who are currently running Mountain Lion (10.8.x). If your machine is running Mountain Lion (10.8.x) the upgrade will appear automatically in Software Updates under the Apple Menu. If your machine is running Snow Leopard (10.6.x) or Lion (10.7.x), you will need to contact the Technology HelpDesk to discuss upgrade options.
