FIC Hamlin

In this room you can project from a laptop from a VGA or HDMI cable, play a DVD, VHS, and Blu-ray.  You can control the screen, volume, audio mute, display mute, and freeze the image from the touchpanel. 


Volume

The volume in the room can be controled with the dial under the touchpanel screen.


Need Help? 

Press the Help? button on the left of the screen.  This willl give you the extension for the Helpdesk.  They will contact Media Services and send someone to help. 


Display Mute

This will blank the screen if you do not want it on for a period of time.  To unmute press the Display Mute button again.


Freeze

This will freeze a video image similar to pausing, there is a 1 or 2 second delay before it freezes. To unfreeze press the Display mute button and then press it again and the image will be unfrozen. 


Starting the System

Touch the touchpanel screen, the screen will light up.  Touch the touchpanel screen again where indicated to go to the Main Menu. The projector will turn on and the screen will come down. There will be about a 30 second delay while the system warms up. 


Select Your Source

Projecting from a Laptop

  • Press the Laptop icon at the top of the touchpanel screen
  • Connect the VGA or HDMI cable to your computer
  • Power on your computer.  You should have projection.  If you do not, go to go/troubleshoot for troubleshooting tips on projecting from a laptop. 
  • IF YOU HAVE A MAC, you will need the appropriate dongle/adapter to connect your computer to the VGA or HDMI cable


Watching a DVD

  • Press the DVD icon at the top of the touchpanel screen
  • Power on the combo player if needed
  • Insert your disc and press play.  You can control the DVD player from the touchpanel.  You can play, pause, stop, skip forward, skip back, fast forward, rewind, eject and return to the DVD Main Menu.


Watching a VHS

  • Press the VCR icon at the top of the touchpanel screen
  • Power on the combo player if needed
  • Insert your video and press play.  You can control the VCR from the touchpanel.  You can play, pause, stop, fast forward, rewind, and eject. 


Watching a Blu-ray

  • Press the Blu-ray icon at the top of the touchpanel screen
  • Power on the Blu-ray player if needed
  • Insert your disc and press play.  You can control the Blu-ray player from the touchpanel.  You can play, pause, stop, rewind, fast forward, skip forward, skip back, and eject.  You can also go to the discs main menu. 


Please remember to turn the system off when you are finished

  • Press the red System Off button at the bottum of the touchpanel screen
  • Press the green Power Down button to confirm.
