Images can be created and saved as Portable Document Files (PDFs) using specific tools available on each operating system.  

 

Android

  • Microsoft OfficeLens is a simple free app for smartphones that allows you to take a picture of your document and converts it to PDF for you.
  • Adobe Scan is a comprehensive scanning tool that is available for active Middlebury faculty, staff, and students.

 

iOS (iPhone and iPad)

macOS

  • PDF creation is already supported by the mac operating system using the available print functionality.
  • Adobe Acrobat is also available for macOS. Active Middlebury faculty, staff, and students can install Adobe Acrobat from www.adobe.com.

 

Windows

  • You can convert images to PDF through Adobe Acrobat. Active Middlebury faculty, staff and students can install Adobe Acrobat from www.adobe.com.
  • PDF Creator is a free tool for use on Windows.
