Johnson 304 Classroom Instructions
In this space you can project from the desktop computer, a laptop using VGA and HDMI, play a DVD or Blu-ray, and from any device with RCA outputs such as VCR and Laser Disc players.
Powering on the System – Touch the touchscreen where indicated to go to the main menu. This will turn on the system. The projector will turn on and the screen will lower when you select a source, i.e. Laptop.
Display - You can blank the screen by pushing the Display Mute On/Off button.
Help? – If you need help in your classroom right away push the Help button on the left side of the touch panel for the extension number to the Helpdesk. They will send someone right away to help. If it is not an emergency, send an email to the Helpdesk and they will create a ticket to the issue taken care of.
Projecting from the Desktop - Push the PC icon at the top of the touch screen. If you do not have projection, contact the Helpdesk for assistance.
Projecting from VGA – Push the Laptop icon at the top left of the touch screen. Connect the VGA cable to your computer or other device, you should have projection. If you have a Mac you will need to provide the appropriate adapter (Dongle). If you do not have projection, go to the troubleshooting section of this document.
Projecting from HDMI – Push the HDMI icon on the top of the touch screen. Connect the HDMI cable to your computer or other device, you should have projection. If you have a Mac you will need the appropriate adapter (Dongle). If you do not have projection, go to the troubleshooting section of this document.
Playing a DVD or Blu-ray – Push the Blu-ray icon at the top of the touch screen. You might have to power on the Blu-ray player. Insert your disc and press play. You can control the Blu-ray player from the touchscreen.
Composite Video – This input is for VCRs or Laser Disc players that you might bring into the classroom. There a few available at the circulation desk. You will need to bring the RCA cable as well. The inputs (red, yellow, white) are located at the top left of the rack.
Powering off the System – Push the System Off icon at the bottom of the touchscreen. It will ask you to confirm. All devices in the rack and the projector will turn off and the screen will go up.
Troubleshooting - go to go/troublshoot for troubleshooting tips. If thst is not helpful, conact the Helpdesk at x2200.
