Connecting Apple's Address Book to Middlebury's LDAP Server

  1. Open Address Book.
  2. Click on the Address Book menu (top left corner), then click "Preferences".
  3. Click "LDAP" on the top, then click the plus "+" button.
  4. In the window that appears fill out the fields as follows:
    1. Name: ad.middlebury.edu
    2. Server: ad.middlebury.edu
    3. Leave the port as it is (it will automatically change during the next steps).
    4. Place a checkmark next to "Use SSL". That will allow you to checkmark "Allow self-signed certificates", as well. The port will automatically change to 636.
    5. Search base: dc=middlebury,dc=edu
    6. Leave the Scope set at "Subtree".
    7. Authentication: Simple.
