Mahaney Center for the Arts 221 Classroom Instructions

In this room you can project from the podium computer, a VGA cable and HDMI cable, and watch a DVD and Blu-ray.

Turning on the System – Press the touchscreen panel where indicated. This will take you to the Main Menu.

Volume – You can adjust the volume from the podium computer, VGA, or HDMI with the dial at the bottom of the touch panel.

Aspect Ratio – Press the Aspet Ratio icon to change the projected image from a widescreen (16:9) to full screen (4:3)

Projecting from Podium Computer – Press the PC icon at the top of the touch panel screen. You should have projection. If you do not have projection you should contact the Helpdesk at x2200.

Projecting from VGA – Press the Laptop VGA icon at the top of the touch panel screen. Connect the VGA cable to your computer. If you have a Mac or new Windows 8 computer you will need the appropriate adapter/dongle. You should have projection. If you do not have projection go to the troubleshooting section of this document.

Projecting from HDMI – Press the HDMI icon at the top of the touch panel screen. Connect the HDMI cable to your computer. If you have a Mac or a new Windows 8 computer with mini display port, you will need the appropriate adapter/dongle. You should have projection. If you do not have projection, go to the troubleshooting section of this document.

Watching Blu-Ray/DVD – Press the Blu-ray icon at the top of the touch panel screen. Insert your disc and press play. You can control the Blu-ray player from the touch panel. You can play, pause, stop, fast forward, rewind, skip forward, skip backward, eject, and navigate the DVD menu.

Using the Microphones

There is a podium microphone, a wireless handheld microphone and a lapel microphone. They are stored in the drawer of the podium. You may have to change the batteries.

To adjust the volume of the microphones, press the Mics icon on the touch panel at the top of the screen.

PLEASE, remember to bring AA batteries with you!

Please remember to turn the system off when you are finished to conserve energy.

If you are having difficulties projecting, go to go/troubleshoot or call the Helpdesk at x2200.
