MBH 116-117 Computer Classroom
In this classroom you can watch a DVD or use Blu-ray video. You can also project using the provided desktop, or from a laptop using a VGA cable or an HDMI cable. Additionally, you can control the lighting, volume, audio mute, aspect ratio and the screen from the touch panel.
Turning System On
Touch the screen to begin; this will take you to the Main Menu. The selection for sources is at the top of the touch panel screen. The button along the sides of the screen will help control other aspects of the room and image. When you select a source it will turn the projector on and lower the screen.
Lights - You can control the lights in this room from the buttons on the left side of the panel, there are 2 lighting options, Lights On is full on and Lights Off isused for showing a film.
Help - If you have problems at any time, you can press the Help? button, this will give you the number to the Helpdesk. A phone is available near to the podium.
Aspect Ratio – This will change the projected image from regular 4:3 to a widescreen 16:9. Widescreen setting is recommended for high definition computers and Blu-ray videos. To change it back, press the button again.
Screen - The screen can be controlled with the Screen Up and Screen Down buttons.
Audio Mute – This is a button available on each source screen. It will mute the sound. The volume can be adjusted with the dial under the touch panel screen.
Projecting from VGA - Press the laptop icon on the top of the touch panel screen. Connect the VGA cable to your laptop. Turn your computer on. You should have projection. If you do not have projection go to the Troubleshooting section of this document.
Projecting from HDMI - Press the HDMI icon at the top of the touch panel. Connect the HDMI cable to your laptop. Turn your computer on. You should have projection. If you do not have projection go to the Troubleshooting section of this document.
Projecting from Desktop. - Press the PC icon at the top of the touch panel screen. Log into the computer. You should have projection. If you do not have projection, go to the Troubleshooting section of this document.
Watching a Blu-ray - Press the Blu-ray icon at the top of the touch panel screen. Insert your disk and press play. You can control the Blu-ray player from the touch panel. It will play, stop, fast forward, rewind, skip forward, skip back, pause, and eject.
Watching a DVD - You can watch a DVD using either the DVD drive on the desktop computer or in the Blu-Ray player. Blu-Ray function is identical for a DVD and for a Blu-Ray. Open video playing program Windows Media Player if using the desktop's DVD drive.
Composite Video - This connection is on the rack with the red, white, and yellow jacks, this is for other devices you might need such as an additional VCR, Laser Disc player, etc.
Turning System Off - On the bottom right of all the touch panel screens is the red Power System Off button. Press this; a confirmation screen will pop up. Press the green Yes button to confirm you want to turn the system off. All devices in the rack will turn off, the projector will turn off and the screen will go up when you press this button.
Please remember to turn the system off when you are finished.
