SDL Dana Video And Computer Projection
In this space you can project from a laptop using a VGA cable with audio or HDMI cable, project from the dell desk top, and play a Blu-ray or DVD thru the Blu-ray player. At the podium on Dana stage you will see a touch panel on the podium along with a computer monitor. The touch panel has the Dana welcome screen and you need to choose Podium sources to activate room control. Do not choose Booth sources as you will need a key to access the media players if that choice is made. Its@mediaservices highly recommends you contact media services through the Helpdesk for training in this space to insure a successful event.
Lighting Controls - Press the Lighting Controls icon on the left side of the touch panel screen. From this page you will have control of the Flourescent house lights along with the dimmable Incandescent lights in audience and on stage. There are also Fluorescent stage lights that can be turned on off as needed.
Curtain and Masking Control –There is a curtain and masking page that allows the user to open and close the curtains and to appropriately mask the projected image from either computer or Blu-Ray.
Projecting from Desktop or Laptop - Press the appropriate icon on the touch panel screen depending on your projection choice .Connect the VGA cable with audio to your laptop. If you have a Mac, you will need the appropriate adapter/dongle. If you do not have one you can borrow one from the circulation desk at the library.
If a higher quality projection is desired and your laptop has either an HDMI port or capability with an adaptor feel free to choose the Laptop HDMI. Audio is carried in the HDMI cable.You should have projection. If you do not have projection, go to the troubleshooting section of this document.
Projecting a Blu-ray or DVD - Press the Blu-ray icon on the Main Menu. Insert your disc You can control the Blu-ray player from the touch panel. You have control of all transport functions and can play, pause, stop, fast forward, rewind, skip forward, skip backward, and navigate the Blu-Ray- DVD menu for audio/subtitle/or scene choices.
Volume Control- on the right side of the touch panel there are volume control buttons that allow the user to raise or lower volume and to mute the audio as needed. Successive presses will slowly raise or lower the volume which has a bar graph to illustrate the volume level.
Document Camera - Touch the Aux Video icon and you should have projection.
Aux Video - This cable is connected to the Document Camera but it can be disconnected and reconnected to a device that is not currently available in the rack such as a laser disc player or if you should need a second VCR. (Analog output only)
Dual Display - Dual display will allow you to choose any two sources and project them both on the screen at the same time. Touch the Dual Display icon and select the two sources you want.
Annotation - Annotation will allow you to “draw” on the touch panel “like they do with sports events on TV” with your finger.
Using the Microphones
At the podium on stage, there is a small drawer on the left side. You will find 3 wireless handheld microphones. All you have to do is turn them on. The levels should already be set appropriately.
PLEASE, remember to bring your own AA batteries!
