Slow Login on Macs
Issue: your Mac takes a long time to login.
Causes:
- Most likely this is a bug in the OS. Click on the apple menu and select "Software Update", then install the most recent software updates for your Mac.
- Very little disk space left. Solution: Free up some disk space.
- Lots of applications set to open automatically when you login. Solution: Open System Preferences => Accounts => Login Items and remove items that you do not want to start automatically.
- Lots of files/folders on the Desktop. Solution: Move all the files from the Desktop into a new folder outside the Desktop. Move things to the Desktop as you use them.
