Create a project that only you can access

  1. Open CONTENTdm Project Client
  2. Click CREATE A NEW PROJECT
  3. Enter URL address of server: http://middarchive.middlebury.edu
  4. Enter your personal username & password (see Bryan Carson to set one up if you don't have). You may want to check the REMEMBER USER NAME box
  5. Choose the collection where your project will reside
  6. Enter project name (e.g., DLA for Digital Lecture Archive)
  7. Do not check "Share this project on a network with others"
  8. Click FINISH
  9. You're now ready to add items

Create a shared project that other people can acess

  1. Open CONTENTdm Project Client
  2. Click CREATE A NEW PROJECT
  3. Enter your personal username & password (see Bryan Carson to set one up if you don't have). You may want to check the REMEMBER USER NAME box
  4. Choose the collection where your project will reside (e.g., Digital lecture archive)
  5. Enter project name (e.g., DLA for Digital Lecture Archive)
  6. Check the box for "Share this project on a network with others."
  7. In box under "Specify a shared project location," browse for: O:\orgs\LIS\CONTENTdm\[your name] shared projects
  8. Click Finish.
  9. A new tab will open in your Project Client with the shared project icon and name

  10. Clickthe tab with your project name
  11. You're now ready to add items (see next step in document)

Access a shared project

  1. Open CONTENTdm Project Client
  2. Click IMPORT SHARED PROJECT

  3. Browse to the directory name of shared project: O:\orgs\LIS\CONTENTdm\Sue's shared projects (or whatever name is correct)
  4. Click IMPORT (You may be asked for you username/password)
  5. Items should appear in your Project Client
  6. From now on when you're working with this project, you do not have to go thru steps 2-4. Instead, Click Open Existing Project.
