Check your disk space in Mac OS X
You can check the capacity/free space of your main disk by following these steps:
- Click on your Desktop
- Click on the menu titled "Go" (top middle of the screen)
- Click "Utilities" (the Utilities folder will open)
- Double-click "Activity Monitor"
- In the Activity Monitor window click on the Disk Usage tab on the bottom. Details on the space free and space utilized will be displayed.
Check your disk space in Windows
- Windows XP and earlier:
- Open "My Computer" (by double-clicking on the My Computer icon on the desktop OR on the start menu).
- Right-click your local disk C and select "properties", details about the disk space will be displayed on the 1st tab.
- Windows Vista:
- Click on the Start button (lower left corner), click on "Computer"
- Right-click your local disk C and select "properties", details about the disk space will be displayed on the 1st tab.
