Configure the Mac Leopard VPN Client

This articles describes how to configure the Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) VPN Client

1. Click on the apple logo in the top left corner of the screen and click "System Preferences". The "System Preferences" window appears.
2. In the System Preferences window click on "Network".
   
3. Click on the "+" icon (lower left corner). A dialog box will appear.
4. Next to "Interface" select "VPN".
5. Next to "VPN Type" select "PPTP".
6. Next to service name type in "MiddVPN".
   
7. Click "Create". The VPN settings window will appear.
8. Leave "Configuration" as it is. ("Default")
9. Next to "Server Address" type in 140.233.5.200
10. Next to "Account Name" type in your username in this format: MIDD\jsmith
11. Place a checkmark next to "Show VPN status".
12. Click the "Apply" button in the lower right corner.
13. To connect, click the "Connect" button in the middle of the screen. Enter your Middlebury College password (i.e. your e-mail password). We recommend that you do not save the password.
14. In the future, to use VPN, you can click on the VPN icon on the menu bar (top of the screen, to the left of the system time, looks like a black rectangle with bars).
