*Insert the source DVD and use the Apple DVD player to create a written log of the in and out points for all of the clips that you want to extract from that DVD.

*Quit the DVD player.

*Launch the Fairmount application.

*Launch the MPEG Streamclip application.

|
*Select File-&gt;Open DVD from the top menu.

|
*Browse to the decrypted disk image and choose "Select" to open it.

*Choose "1" when prompted to choose which movie to open. Click OK.

*Select Edit-&gt;Go to Time from the top menu.

|
*Input the first in point from the written log that you created.

*Select Edit-&gt;Select In to make the current playhead location the in point.

*Select Edit-&gt;Go to Time from the top menu.

*Input the first out point from the written log that you created.

*Select Edit-&gt;Select Out to make the current playhead location the out point.

*Select File-&gt;Export to Quicktime.

*Choose Prores 422 from the codec dropdown list.

*Name the clip, select a save location and click Save.

*Repeat the process above until all of the clips in your written log have been captured.

*Launch Final Cut Pro.

*Set up your project using the [[FCP Setup]] tutorial.

*Select File-&gt;Import Files from the top menu.

*Browse to the location where you saved the clips that you extracted with MPEG Streamclip and click Choose.

*Edit the clips using Final Cut Pro [[FCP Editing Basics]].

*Export the edited version using [[FCP Video Export]] or share the edited version using [[FCP Video Share]].
