Installing Java Plug-in for INB

1. Using the Add or Remove Programs option in the Control Panel, remove all versions of J2SE Runtime, Java, Java SE, Java Updates, and Oracle JInitiator.
   a. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, select the program to be removed.
   b. Click .
2. If you use IE check to see if you are using the Pop-up Blocker: Click the Tools menu and point to Pop-up Blocker. If the submenu says Turn Off Pop-up Blocker then the pop-up blocker is in use. If the Pop-up Blocker is used, to the following:
   a. From the Tools menu select Internet Options.
   b. Click the Security tab.
   c. Select Trusted Sites and then click .
   d. In the Add this Web site to the zone field type *.middlebury.edu and then click .
   e. Click  on the Trusted Sites dialog box and then click on the Internet Options dialog box.
3. If you use IE check the browser security settings:
   a. From the Tools menu select Internet Options.
   b. Click the Security tab.
   c. Select Internet, Local Intranet, Trusted Sites, and Restricted Sites, in turn and click for each.
       Note: On some computers you can click rather than selecting and resetting each zone.
   d. Click on the Internet Options dialog box and then click to close. 
4. If you use IE check the File downloads setting:
   a. Click the Security tab.
   b. Click .
   c. Under the Downloads heading select the Enable radio button for Automatic prompting for file downloads if it is not already enabled.
   d. Click . If you are prompted to confirm your change click .
   e. Click on the Internet Options dialog box and then click to close.
5. On some computers using IE you may have to disable the Reuse of windows for launching shortcuts setting:
   a. From the Tools menu select Internet Options.
   b. Click the Advanced tab.
   c. If the Reuse windows for launching shortcuts option is checked, click to uncheck it.
   d. Click on the Security tab and then click on the Internet Options dialog box to close.
6. Disable toolbars like Windows Live Toolbar, Google Toolbar, Go Toolbar, MSN Toolbar, and any Adobe add-ons.
   a. From the Tools menu select Manage Add-ons.
   b. Select any suspected toolbar or Adobe add-on and then click the Disable radio button. The add-on will be moved to the Disabled list.
   c. Do steps a and b for each toolbar or add-on.
   d. When finished, click .

8. In the address field of your browser type go.middlebury.edu/inb?prct and then press Enter.
9. Start the installation:
   Click on the yellow bar that says Click here to install (under the browser toolbars and at the top of the display area) and select Install Active X.
   Click .
   Click .
   Click .
10. A browser window should open with the INB login dialog scripts. Log into INB with your Banner INB username and password.
