Faculty Authors Browsing Guidelines (Davis Library)

  • Spine: Faculty author
  • Dust jackets will remain on hardbound books
  • Hardbound books with dust jackets should get sent to P&P with a blue bindery slip for mylar covers
  • Science call numbers: housed in Armstrong stacks
  • Sign in Davis Faculty area noting Science Faculty books at Armstrong


Faculty Authors Browsing Guidelines (Armstrong Library)

  • When new books written by, or with chapters written by, science faculty arrive in CM:
  • CM processes
  • 655 Faculty authors.|2 local
  • CM adds circ message: Armstrong faculty author
  • CM adds flag with Fac Author note for Armstrong staff
  • Armstrong staff changes status to On Display
  • If a book circulates off of the faculty author shelf the circ note will let staff know to return it to the author shelf if they wish (with On Display status)
  • Armstrong staff can pull science faculty books from stacks at any time and change the status to On Display
  • The circ note will remain until Armstrong staff remove it and return book to stacks


Graphic Novels

  • III location: mmbc
  • Spine: Browsing graphic
  • Dust jackets will remain on hardbound books
  • Hardbound books with dust jackets should get sent to P&P with a blue bindery slip for mylar covers


General Browsing (a.k.a Locavore Reading from the Vermont Book Shop, Career, Health & Wellness)

  • Separate collections like Career, Health & Wellness, etc. are now folded into General Browsing and classed with LC call numbers)
  • III location: mmbg
  • iType 2
  • Spine: Browsing
  • Dust jackets will remain on hardbound books
  • Hardbound books with dust jackets should get sent to P&P with a blue bindery slip for mylar covers


Foreign Language Browsing

  • III location: mmbl
  • Spine: Browsing {language} (*Reclass to LC in progress)
  • Dust jackets will remain on hardbound books
  • Hardbound books with dust jackets should get sent to P&P with a blue bindery slip for mylar covers
