Saving Toner and Increasing Printer Reliability
There are several ways of simultaneously saving toner (ink) and increasing printer reliability:
- Print to PDF (i.e. don't print, create a PDF)
- Print in Draft mode
- Enable any toner-saving features on the printer itself:
HP: Economode
Canon: Toner Saving Mode
Kyocera: Ecoprint Mode or Toner Save Mode
Xerox: Toner Saving Mode - Print using a:
lower DPI
70%-80% grey font color
smaller font
decreased font weight (condensed font) or use a thinner font (e.g. instead of Arial use Century Gothic) - Ecofont -- font with tiny holes in the letters like Ecofont, though this raises various issues:
