We recommend that you save your documents in your OneDrive or Google Drive cloud storage where they can be easily accessed by any networked computer on campus.

  • Choosing the MiddColor, MiddBW, or Non_Library_Printers print queues on our Papercut server allows you to go to any participating print release station to release your print job(s)! See the appropriate Mobility Print instructions below to set up the MiddBW & MiddColor queues for use on a personal device.
  • For Institute printing in Monterey, please use the MiddColor and MiddBW print queues.

Printing Options

You may use the following instructions to set up your personally-owned device to be able to submit print jobs using Mobility Print, or you may submit print jobs using publicly-available computers.

Print from your own computer using Mobility Print

macOS (one time setup instructions)

IMPORTANT: Mobility Print is not intended for use on college-owned computers; see http://go/print?mac/ for printer installation instructions.

The MiddBW and MiddColor queues will need to be added using these steps:

  1. Be sure to connect to wireless with MiddleburyCollege, NOT MiddleburyGuest!
  2. Navigate to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  3. Click the + icon below the Printers pane. The Add dialog box appears, listing all discovered printers on the network.
  4. Click to select a printer. Its Name, Location, and Use will display.
  5. Confirm that Use is set to Secure AirPrint, then click Add to set up the desired printer.
  6. Print your document. When prompted to log in, do NOT accept the details provided! Enter your full Middlebury email address and password and choose "save to keychain."
(Repeat steps 1 – 5 above to add any other desired printers.)

Windows 10 (one time installation instructions)

IMPORTANT: Mobility Print is not intended for use on college-owned computers; see http://go/print?win/ for printer installation instructions.

The MiddBW and MiddColor queues will need to be installed using these steps:

  1. Visit http://go/mobileprint/. Click the link to download then run the Mobility Print Installer (pc-mobility-print-printer-setup-1.0.XXX.exe). You may need to allow the app to make changes.
  2. Choose the installation language. On the License Agreement screen, accept the agreement, then click Next.
  3. Select desired printer(s), then click Next.
Note: You may want to uncheck the box beside BIH621CT to deselect it.
  4. Enter your full Middlebury College email address and password, then click Next.
Important! The credentials used to install individual printers will be charged for any print jobs submitted to it, regardless of who is logged on to the computer.
  5. Click Finish. Print your document.
(To add more printers later, run the downloaded Mobility Print Installer program again.)

Troubleshooting Common Mobility Print Issues

  • Check the wireless network. Mobility Print does not work on the MiddleburyGuest network; you must be connected to wireless using MiddleburyCollege.
  • Mobility print does not support printing to plotters due to the non-standard page sizes. Poster print jobs must be submitted from a nearby public lab computer.
  • Be sure you are using valid login credentials when prompted to authenticate; you need your full Middlebury email address and password. You can confirm your password is correct by using it to log in to a different service, such as Webmail (http://go/mail/).
  • Mac users can often fix issues by removing/reinstalling printers from System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. If "hold for authentication" error appears, clearing the keychain will resolve matters.
  • Use of private VPN software (other than Middlebury's Global Protect) will cause problems with Mobility Print setup and use.
  • If Mobility Print is installed on a College-owned device all features of the print driver are not available.  Use these printer installation instructions for full functionality:  http://go/print?win or http://go/print?mac.
  • Still need a hand? See Getting Help with Printer Issues (http://go/printerhelp/).

Print from a lab or public computer

NOTE: Guest printing is currently unavailable due to continued COVID-19 concerns.

  1. Log in to a college computer in the library or any of our public computer labs. Be sure to use your own Middlebury username and password - if someone else was using the computer before you and forgot to logout, log them out first!
  2. Access and open your document from the cloud, from your USB drive, or from wherever you stored it.
  3. Print your document. In most programs you can do this by choosing File -> Print or by pressing the appropriate shortcut keys.
    • Specify which pages you want to print, then choose MiddColor, MiddBW, or Non_Library_Printers from the drop-down list.
(Note: For Windows users, queue names are followed by on papercut.)
    • Choosing another printer is possible but these three queues give you the greatest flexibility as you can release your print job from any associated release station.
  4. Proceed to a Print Release Station associated with your printer selection. (After 24 hours have elapsed your print job will be erased from the system.)
  5. Log into the Print Release Station on or near the printer using your Middlebury username and password.
  6. Release your print job by selecting “Print”.

Where can I release my print jobs?

Please Conserve Resources!

You can reduce the environmental impact of printing your papers by following some simple recommendations:

  • Use Print Preview (under the File menu) to see how your document looks before printing.
  • Print double-sided whenever possible. This is the default for the MiddBW queue.
  • Don’t print e-reserve or other web source material unless truly necessary. Instead of printing the entire document, take notes while reading it on the computer to help you remember important points.
  • When printing a draft, print multiple pages on one sheet. This can be surprisingly readable at 2-4 pages per sheet. It becomes a tremendous paper-saving technique when combined with double-sided printing!
  • Please print only one copy of your documents then use the copy machines to generate additional copies, if needed.
