Robert A Jones Conference Room – Media Equipment Instructions

In this space you can project from the built in PC computer, a laptop using VGA or HDMI, watch a Blu-ray or DVD and host a videoconference.

Power On – Touch the power icon on the touch panel. This will take you to the main menu.

Volume – This adjusts the audio levels on any device that is projecting. It does not control the microphones.

Mic Control – You can adjust the levels of all the microphones, each one is labeled.

Matrix Control – This space has the ability to project the same thing on all the screens (including the monitor) or something different on each screen.

Media Services – This is for Media Services use only.

Projecting from the PC – Press the PC icon at the top of the touch screen. It will turn on the projectors and lower the screens. If you do not have projection, call the Helpdesk at x2200 for assistance.

Projecting from a Laptop – Press either VGA or HDMI at the top of the touch screen and connect the appropriate cable to your computer. If you do not have a regular VGA or HDMI input on your computer, you will need an adapter. We do not provide the adapters but you can loan them from the Circulation Desk at the Davis Library. If you do not have projection, on a PC, press the Windows button and P at the same time, display options will appear. On a Mac, press the Command button and F1 at the same time, it will switch to another projection mode, either extended display (you will see your desktop background but no icons) or mirror. Press Command + F1 again until you see the display option you want. If this does not solve the problem, contact the Helpdesk at x2200.

Watching a DVD/Blu-ray – Press the Blu-ray icon at the top of the touch screen. You might have to power on the Blu-ray player, located in the back of the room in the rack. Insert your disc and press play. You have complete control of the Blu-ray player from the touch panel.

Aux HDMI – This is for a secondary HDMI device that you might want to project from at the same time as a laptop.

Video Call – This is where all the controls are for the Video Conferencing. You will need Media Services assistance for this if you are not very experienced with the equipment. Contact the Helpdesk to schedule your video conference.
