SDL Dana Video And Computer Projection
In this room you can project from a laptop using and HDMI or USB-C cable, the in-house PC, or Airplay if you have a mac computer. You can also play Blu-rays and DVDs from the player in the podium.
Touch the Press to begin on the touch panel at the podium stage right. The system will start up. You may notice on the home screen that there are additional Booth options for staff and special events like DCP projection. For regular classroom and meeting use, you shouldn't need to use these
Projecting from HDMI - Press the Laptop HDMI icon at the top of the touch panel. Connect the HDMI cable to your computer. You should immediately have projection. If you don't, go to the troubleshooting section at the bottom of this page.
Projecting from Apple TV - You can use your MacBook Laptop, iPad, or iPhone.
- MacBook - Your computer will detect the AirPlay signal. You will have a small icon at the top of your computer screen on the right. It is a rectangle with a small triangle in it. Click on the icon and a dropdown menu will list the name of the AppleTV for this room: SDL DANA. After you select that, a 4 digit code will appear on the screen, enter that on your computer and then it will connect and you will have projection.
- If you have the Monterey OS for Mac, you may need to go into System Preferences>Display and select Add Display at lower left. Select SDL DANA on the dropdown menu.
- iPad/iPhones - On the home screen of your device, slide your finger up on the screen to get to the "utility" menu. Tap AirPlay Mirroring. A menu will list the name of the AppleTV for this room: SDL DANA. After you select that, a 4 digit code will appear on the screen, enter that on your computer and then it will connect and you will have projection.
Projecting from PC - Select PC. You might need to restart it if it has been turned off. It is located in the stage podium.
Playing Blu-ray/DVD - Select Bluray Podium and the ensuing menu will give you options. Please note that depending on how a disc has been formatted, to play one sometimes requires pressing the OK button - not the traditional Play button.
Microphones - Three wireless handheld microphones and one lapel microphone are available in the podium. The receivers are already on so a flip of the switch and you should hear them.
Volume - You can control the audio levels at the right side slider on the touch panel home screen.
Curtain and Masking - Masking options refer to the material on the sides of the screen which can be extended to the sides of the screen to accommodate a bigger projected image. You should start the disc and make sure the image is not projecting over masking material. Should you encounter this, you can see which size works for the disc image you are projecting. The size of the masking increases with the options from left to right: 1.33.....1.78....Flat-1.85....Scope-2.39.
You can also control the curtain in front by using the Curtain Close and Open buttons.
Lights - You have many options with Podium, Front Stage Lights, and Rear Stage Lights affecting areas of the stage, while all others control the brightness in the seating areas. You can also select one of four options below the Lights category: All On, Presentation, Video, or All Off
When you are finished please remember to turn the system off to conserve energy.
