Turning System On

Firmly touch the touch panel to wake it up and again firmly touch the screen to take you to the Main Menu. You will see DVD, VCR, Aux Video, Laptop, Aux Comp, Lights and System Shutdown. Touching DVD, VCR, Aux Video, Laptop, or Aux Comp will turn on the projector and lower the screen.

Lights

You can control the lighting in the room by selecting the Lights icon in the Main Menu. Also when you choose any of the other display options, you can control the lighting while on that screen without having to go back to the Main Menu. Choose the setting that works best for you. If you are doing any projecting, I suggest a low or off setting, you will have a clear image on the screen.

Watching a DVD

1. Select DVD icon in the Main Menu
2. Insert your DVD. You will have complete control over the DVD player from the touch panel.
3. After you have watched your video, be sure to remove your disc and shut the system off.

Watching a VHS

1. Select VCR icon on the Main Menu
2. Insert your video to the VCR. You will have complete control of the VCR from the touch panel.
3. After you have watched your video, be sure to remove your tape and shut the system off.

Projecting from a Laptop

PC

1. Select the Laptop icon on the Main Menu
2. Plug the VGA cable into the VGA port on your PC and the 3.5 Audio cable into the headphone jack.
3. Turn your computer on and you should have projection. If you do not have projection, go to the Trouble Shooting section of this document.

Mac

1. Select Laptop icon on the Main Menu
2. Depending on the model of your Mac, you should have a VGA 15 pin adapter, also called a dongle. Plug the adapter into your computer and connect to the VGA 15 Pin cable. Also plug the 3.5 Audio cable into the headphone jack.
3. Turn your computer on and you should have projection. If you do not have projection, go to the Trouble Shooting section of this document.

Aux. Video Cable

This option is if you want to view a movie from a media that is not in the rack, either DVD or VHS. In this case you might want to show a laser disc, you would need to loan a Laser Disc Player from the Circulation Desk and it could be attached to this device.

Aux. Computer Cable

This option is if you would like to project from two different laptops. You would not be able to project them both on the screen at the same time but you could switch back and forth from the Laptop setting to the Aux Comp setting.

Shutting System Down

After you have removed your media from the device rack or disconnected you computer, select the Shutdown System icon, select OK. This will turn off all the devices in the rack including the projector and automatically roll up the screen. Please remember to do this at the end of every projection to maintain the integrity of the equipment.
