When withdrawing titles due to weeding or lost items, the following steps will keep Midcat and Serial Solution's Summon discovery service in synch:
- Do not delete the bib record when withdrawing something. Change b-code 3 to “d” (delete). This suppresses the record from the public catalog and notifies Summon when records have been deleted.
- Delete item records
- Update OCLC holdings.
- After we have sent our update file of deleted records to Serials Solutions, the MARC records marked "d" can be deleted.
