Music Library

The Music Library has media carrels for public use equipped to play compact discs, LPs, and cassettes. Additional carrels contain computers connected to the campus network with word processing, spreadsheet, CD-ROM, and printing capabilities. A computer station with an attached piano keyboard and music notation software is also available.

Two rooms contain study carrels and tables. Students may reserve a carrel when working on a senior thesis. Four media rooms, each accommodating up to four people, are available for group study or for viewing video recordings. Keys are available to check out at the circulation desk. Each room contains a computer, turntable, cassette player, CD player, VCR, laserdisc, and DVD player. In addition, one room has a digital scanner.

A photocopy machine is available for public use. A dual-deck audio cassette recorder and a CD recorder - which can record from cassette or LP to CD - are available for copying sound recordings pursuant to copyright laws. Available for check-out at the circulation desk are keys to both a music practice room and the computer music lab (both elsewhere in the Center for the Arts).
