Don't let this happen to you!

Damaged MacBook power adapter cables are a chronic problem and Middlebury College has already spent thousands of dollars this fiscal year replacing them ($80 each). This damage is caused by tightly wrapping the cord around the adapter. This is not how the cord is meant to be wrapped and will eventually damage the cord as shown above, causing severe inconvenience for you and unnecessary spending for the college to replace them. Please help LIS to not have to replace your adapter due to mis-wrapped cords!

To properly wrap the cord, leave a little loop where it enters the adapter in order to prevent the stress that causes it to break. See below:
