First Fact
The Middlebury College biomass facility, which is now under construction, aims to cut the college's carbon footprint by 12,500 tons. The facility will use woodchips as fuel. Woodchips from trees and other plants work well both because they are renewable (by planting more trees) and that the carbon emitted from turning it into energy is offset by the carbon that the trees and plants remove from the atmosphere [1].
