Aside from a good laugh, I think it enables us to create a subliminal message out to viewers on what the effects are, and what we can do on an individual level.  How do we do that?  Take for example, comedian Sarah Silverman’s “Convenient Truth” video.  She was able to humor her audience by doing things that would cause global warming, by turning the climate crisis into something enjoyable.  She humorously shows how the effect of warming saves her more money on sweaters and how the warming of the planet can be summer fun all year round.  It raises awareness through comedy which may be very effective in conveying our message.

This is why I suggest turning April Fool’s Day into a day of sarcasm, where anyone can be able to make sarcastic jokes about the global warming crisis.  Satirize this epidemic by making fun of the over usage of daily activities that cause global warming.  This will help spread awareness about our climate crisis and show people what NOT to do.

To make this action successful, people need to participate.  People can do anything, ranging from jokes, to creative videos.  Participation will be very simple because this can be done really quickly.  It can also be a really fun project a group of friends can put together.  The local community like the schools can participate by having teachers assigning the project.

APRIL FOOL'S

Nothing gets the message across easier than humor. We can harness the usage of satirization to ironically portray global warming. By doing so, we can turn this world wide epidemic problem into something humorous everyone can laugh at.
