Flash

Flash [1] is a graphics animation program, written by Macromedia and acquired by Adobe [2], which uses vector graphics[3]. The flash files can be easily placed in a web page to view in a web browser. Flash files occur most commonly in animated advertisements on web pages and rich-media web sites. Although prank flash[4] has become common, flash has a great potential to be used on the Web in an educationally effective manner. It can be used to make the whole process of learning a fun activity. An example of the use of flash for educational purpose is its use in the development of interactive periodic table.[5]
