Webmail FAQs

I don't like Webmail's new look. Can I get the "old" webmail back?

If you are unhappy with the new look you may wish to give Webmail's "light" version a try. See How Can I turn on the Light version of Webmail, below.


How can I shut off the Reading Pane?

  1. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the upper-right, beside the ?.
  2. Click Display settings in the drop-down list.
  3. Click the link for reading pane.
  4. Click to select the radio button beside Hide reading pane.
  5. Check the box beside Apply to all folders if desired.
  6. Click OK at the top to apply your changes.


How can I shut off the Conversation view?

  1. Click the Conversations by Date link; the location varies depending on your other view settings but is typically above and to the right of your message list.
  2. From the drop-down menu, choose OFF (below Conversations). Your change will be applied to the current folder. Sadly, there is currently no easy way to shut off the conversation view for all folders.


How can I turn on the Light version of Webmail?


The most reliable way to obtain the light version of webmail is to use this link:

There is also a Webmail setting to request the light version, but it does not work with every browser:

  1. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the upper-right, beside the ?.
  2. Click Display settings in the drop-down list.
  3. Click the link for Outlook Web App version.
  4. Check the box beside Use the light version of Outlook Web App.
  5. Click OK at the top to apply your changes.
